Our Why
For more than 30 years, Communities In Schools of Galveston County has fueled personal potential so that all students can take charge of their story and define their success for life.
Working directly inside of 20 elementary, middle, high school, and 1 college across Galveston County, we connect students to caring adults and community resources that help them see, confront, and overcome the barriers that stand between them and a brighter future. Together, we build a powerful change movement made up of peers, students, and alumni committed to building an equitable path to education for future generations.
The FIVE BASICS: CIS believes that every child needs and deserves a:
